Positive Foulstone, Moving Forward, Learning Together

Our School

Welcome to Darfield Foulstone School of Creative Arts

At Darfield Foulstone, we are very proud of our school.

Exam results have improved year-on-year since 2004.  Since then, we have been in the top two hundred most improved schools on no less than three occasions.

In 2009 we achieved Specialist School status by becoming an Arts College.
Our innovative curriculum that offers KS4 pupils a choice from a wide range of courses, including work-related courses, diplomas and BTECs, as well as more traditional GCSEs.  Our Year Seven curriculum builds on and develops pupils’ Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS).

Learning Together, our whole-school code of conduct has been developed with the input of staff, pupils and parents and ensures our high expectations are clear. Learning Together ensure that students that follow expectations are rewarded and those that breach pupil codes are given appropriate sanctions.
Our new, and innovative, Personal  Tuition programme ensures that every pupil is a member of a small Tutor Group in which a committed Tutor can offer the support, guidance and challenge pupils need.

We believe that a pupil’s experience of school should not be limited to ‘lessons’; we offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities and encourage all pupils to get involved, experience new things and have fun!
Although we are proud of our school, and the achievements of our pupils and staff, we never rest on our laurels; we are constantly striving to improve and build on our successes so that more and more of our pupils can experience a vital and enriching educational experience that enables them to approach their futures as confident, mature, life long learners.

We hope you enjoy our website and find it informative.  If you wish to know more about the school, or speak to someone, don’t hesitate to contact us using the information above.
